| Seminar Description Our relationship with our children and parents often constitutes what premier A Course in Miracles teacher and author Kenneth Wapnick, PhD, called our “most difficult classroom,” the most challenging of our “special relationships,” fraught with guilt, blame, and need. In this A Course in Miracles workshop firmly grounded in Ken’s teachings, we’ll explore how to change the purpose of our relationships with our children and parents from rooting ourselves more deeply in a childish dream of separation, to growing up to accept our shared interest in remembering the uninterrupted, eternal Love of our true nature. We’ll explore how to view our lives as a classroom in which we learn a new way of relating to our children, our parents, and ourselves from the inner teacher of forgiveness instead of sin, guilt, and fear. We’ll consider what the Course has to say about making our relationship with our inner teacher the most important thing, honoring the power of our children’s decision-making mind by connecting with our own, and recognizing our own mind in need of healing in our desire to fix, change, and control our children and parents. We’ll discuss how to demonstrate that nothing our children or parents do can change our love for them and open to learning to parent and discipline from a healed perspective beyond guilt, blame, and need. The workshop will include a thorough explanation of the forgiveness process, practical examples, guided meditation, and an emphasis on the importance of being gentle with ourselves and not taking ourselves so seriously Susan will be available to speak with participants and sign books following the workshop. |
